Corporate Governance and Ethics
The Board of Directors and senior management of corporations are increasingly under scrutiny by regulators, stakeholders, potential investors and external third parties on how they manage corporate strategy with corporate accountability. Legal and regulatory responsibility lies directly with the Board and senior management and their behavior in their daily corporate activities impacts the entire organization’s governance, ethics and overall performance.
Balancing the pressures of short term performance with long term needs and sustainability are paramount whilst ensuring the correct set of relationships between a company’s management, its board, its shareholders and other stakeholders. Further, the degree to which a corporation observes basic principles of good corporate governance is an increasingly important factor for investment and other strategic decisions.
With this background, this workshop considers the structure through which the objectives of the company are set, and the means of obtaining these objectives and monitoring performance are determined.
